Noah's B'ark Walk-In Program Rules
- In general walk ins must pre-coordinated so we can ensure there is enough space to show your dog. If you have not pre-coordinated with one of our volunteers, you maybe turned away if we do not have the space or if your dog does not meet the qualifications.
- Dogs must be up to date on their vaccinations and healthy, so we do not risk the health of other dogs at the adoption fair. Please bring any health records you have on the animal. Dogs that are showing symptoms of kennel cough, parvo, distemper or contagious mange will be asked to leave immediately.
- Dogs must be non-aggressive. Aggressive dogs to humans will be asked to leave immediately.
- Dogs that have come from a shelter must have been out of the shelter for at least 14 days before they can attend adoptions. This is to ensure that they are healthy and do not endanger the health of other dogs attending the adoption fair.
- Owners of the dogs are expected to stay with their dog during the adoption fair. It is your responsibility to keep the dog under control, to walk your dog, and to clean up after your dog throughout the day.
- For dogs that have been found, you must have made an effort to locate the owner. We suggest running a "found ad" in the local newspaper for one week. Leave some details out of the ad so the rightful owner has to describe the dog to you.
- Dogs must kept on a leash at all times (unless crated or in x-pen). If there are not enough crates or pens, you will be asked to sit or stand in an appropriate area out of the flow of traffic. Noah's B'ark dogs take priority in occupying spaces.
- Dogs must be neutered/spayed prior to attending the adoption fair. Puppies that are not of age are an exception. All dogs of age must be neutered/spayed prior to placement in their adoptive homes.
- You are required to fill out an Owner Disclosure statement and agree to fully discloses any temperment, behavioral, and health problems related to the dog you want to place.
- While attending the adoption fair, the following policies and procedures are to be observed. If you fail to compile you will be asked to leave immediately.
- Parties interested in adopting the dog MUST fill out an application.
- Applications are reviewed by Noah's B'ark volunteers and applicants are interviewed by Noah's B'ark volunteers (owners may optionally participate)
- If the adoption is approved, an adoption contract must be completed, there is an adoption fee of $175 payable by the adopter to Noah's B'ark.
- If the dog has not been spayed/neutered, the dog can not go home with the adopter. Arrangements will be made for the dog to be picked up from the vet after the spay/neutering or delivered to the new home after its spay/neutering.
- Dogs placed through this program must have a collar and ID tag prior to going into their new home.
- If the dog is returned after it has been adopted, you agree to continue to foster it while looking for another home.
- Once the dog has been placed in a permanent home, you agree to fully relinquish ownership.
I understand and agree to abide by all rules of Noah's B'ark.
