I actually was planning on adopting a puppy, or maybe an older dog, but I never thought I would end up with a 79 pound pit bull. I have always been a little fearful of pit bulls. You guys were so great and encouraging that I just wanted to give him a chance. I will never regret it. I know he hasn’t been treated well in his life, and if it wasn’t for the scar on his back you would never guess. He is just such a happy dog. All he wants is love, belly rubs and a doggie bed to curl up on and he is totally happy. He is teaching us all a life lesson. He is an amazing dog and we will make sure he will have the life he deserves and no one will ever hurt him again.

We can’t thank you enough for letting him join our family.

Hercules1 Hercules2

We were lucky enough to be chosen as the family for one of Noah’s Bark beloved dogs. The addition to our family came in 2002. Hercules, a nine and a half pound Bichon Frise, was placed with our family on the day my Father passed away. He needed a home and I needed a friend. We each got what we were looking for and more. When he came to us, his hair had been neglected and he had been shaved. He was embarrassed and would hide behind furniture. Now, he struts after a grooming. He has been a companion, watch dog, bed warmer/bed hog and as of 2008, a big brother. My husband and I always say we weren’t really a “family” until Hercules came into our lives. He is also the reason I have a great friend in my life. A neighbor and fellow Bichon owner stopped her car in the street, rolled down her window and asked “is that a Bichon?”. Her dog and Hercules have been best friends ever since, and I now have a coffee, shopping and dim sum pal. We weren’t sure how Hercules would react when we had our son and brought him home from the hospital. As it turned out, that was his baby from day one. He listened for every cry and watched every changing. The day our son learned to walk, Hercules brought him a ball. Now, he and our son, two years old, play tag and ride in the wagon together. My in-laws even commissioned a painting of Hercules as a gift to us. We have far too many Hercules stories to share in one email. We all love him dearly. I can only hope that we have given him the home he deserves. Thank you, Noah’s Bark.

fraggle1 Fraggle2

We adopted Fraggle (then Peaches) in Fall 2008. When she was brought into rescue, she was matted to the skin and filthy. She had Legg-Perthes disease and had to have an FHO on her rear left leg. She has recovered full use of her leg in the 2 years since her surgery, and can even dance on her hind legs. Fraggle is the sweetest dog ever—she has never met a person or animal she wasn’t instantly in love with. When we adopted her, we already had 2 cats and a dog. She loves the cats, and has convinced our grouchy dog to be her friend and play with her. She has been amazing with our baby as well. She loves to be near him and lets him pet her while she gives him kisses. She has been a wonderful addition to our family, and we are so glad that Noah’s Bark saved her from life on the streets!

We have enclosed before and after pictures of Fraggle.
