Lucky and Bear Bear's Story

Lucky & Bear Bear
Lucky is a 3 year old male terrier mix and Bear-Bear is a 3 year old female border collie mix. These two were abused and neglected, now have a fresh start at a new life and are looking for a loving home. They were left alone in the back your for 24 hours a day... the lawn was overgrown with weeds 4 feet high! They were covered with foxtail in their ears and coats. Their owner was a drug addict and would often "forget" to feed them or give them water. Neighbors tried to help the dogs but had their hands legally tied for months.
During their last two months the owner abandon his house and left he dogs to fend on their own, stopping in only once or twice a week to feed them. He only made this effort because he was reported by the neighbors to Animal Control. Neighbors would often see the dogs wandering the streets in search of food and water to the dogs. Many times some big hearted neighbors climbed over the locked gate to bring food and water. One day Bear-Bear jumped the fenced. At that point Animal Control confiscated both the dogs due to violation of a Court Order for lease control and and neglect.
The dogs spent 10 days at Carson animal shelter, the owner decided not to reclaim them stating "he no longer wanted the dogs". One of the neighbors rescued the dogs and came to Noah's Bark for help with placement.
Lucky and Bear-Bear were placed together in their forever home on 9/2/2000!
